Green Street
This newly opened cafe is based on a traditional Indian theme. The place was nicely decorated with a black and white colour scheme but still had a modern touch to it. At the time, there was only one staff serving, Haseeb, but I can confidently say that an outstanding service was provided. I ordered the masala chips afterwards but as he saw us eating he brought the food to the table instead of having us collect it from the till. The different branches charge different prices so I’ve attached a picture of the Green Street menu.

ALL DAY DESI BREAKFAST (£5.25):
I ordered the Desi Breakfast which came with a classic roti, masala beans, classic omelette and a karak chaii. There’s an option which you can choose from for each item included in the desi breakfast. For instance, you can choose from a classic roti or classic paratha, a classic omelette or a masala omelette, masala beans or daal. I would strongly recommend trying the karak chaii as it had a nice cardamom aroma to it. However, I do think that the masala beans lacked the masala flavour that I was expecting and would therefore recommend getting the daal instead which tasted just like one from home. The portions were quite large and filling.
BOMBAY SANDWICH (£2.25):
Four slices of potato grilled sandwich served which in my opinion tasted quite bland. There was a very thick layer of mushy potato but the grilled bread was nice and crunchy. However, my sister did quite enjoy the sandwich so I think that it all depends on individual taste.
MASALA CHIPS (£2.00):
I was greatly disappointed by the masala chips, I was expecting much more from it. I personally felt that the chips absolutely lacked the masala touch to it rather tasted like tomato sauce creating a sweet rather than spicy, saucy taste. Hence, I wouldn’t really recommend getting them.
Halal Status:
This place isn't HMC certified hence I went for vegetarian options. The place mainly serves vegetarian dishes, except for the butter chicken roll. However, I have confirmed with them via email, and there isn't any cross contamination between any veg and non veg dishes.
